Dermatology works on a severity scale. Mild gets a topical. Moderate gets antibiotics. Severe gets Accutane. What doesn't happen in most visits is anyone asking why the acne is there in the first place. Testosterone spiking. Cortisol elevated from chronic stress. Vitamin D too low to support skin repair. These don't show up on your teen's face in a way that tells you which one it is. They show up in bloodwork. And most teens have never had that bloodwork done.
